MAKPOLYKOTE 4MM is an Anti Corrosive tape based on Coal Tar pitch or Bitumen and specifically designed to comply with the requirements of IS:10221-1982 It incorporates a centre core of 45 gsm/sqm of Fibre Glass Tissue and HMHDPE film of which lends mechanical strength, dimensional stability to the product. These centre cores are laminated with 3 layers of coal tar or bitumen mix. The final product has a top and bottom layer of thermofusible HMHDPE Film. All the seven layers are calendered together to create this revolutionary 4mm thick tape. The material conforms to IS:15337-2003 and AWWA:C203-2008. 

Our pipeline wrapping coating tape is widely used for protecting underground pipelines by various fire remedy companies in housing societies, NTPCs, etc.

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Wire brush the Pipe to remove all foreign debris.
2. Apply a coat of Mak Primer @ 200 gms/sqm and allow it to dry till it becomes tacky.
3. MAK POLY KOTE 4mm is then wound around the pipe in spiral fashion and bonded to pipe by thermofusion process using LPG Torch. An overlap of 10mm is to be allowed. The overlaps are to be sealed by thermofusion process.
4. An area of 250 mm at the end of the Pipes is to be left uncoated to permit installation and welding. This area is to be coated after welding.

Mac Poly coat, also known as Mak Polykote or commonly Pipe Kote or Pipe Coat is an anticorrosive tape for protection of underground steel pipelines.
It conforms to IS10221, IS15537. It also conforms to AWWA C203 standard.
It is available in 4mm, 3mm, 2mm and 1mm thickness.
